Starry Night Collage
In this lesson we learned about Vincent Van Gogh and his piece, Starry Night. We used colored tissue paper for the background and cut out silhouettes for our foreground. I used color pastels to show more emphasis and give more shape to my foreground. In the background, I used the pastels to add more color so there wasn't black space. I didn't want black space, because the back ground was a sunset and I wanted the sky to be full of color.
Extension: After doing this project, the students would explain the climates, vegetation, and animals involved in the environment that they made. Then they would go on to make a food web for their environment and present what they learned about their habitat to the class.
